Going To Red Bay......

During the night, it snowed about 2” here in Sherman, MS. It was really wet when it began, so they did not expect it to stick. However, enough of it did stick, that it made it look like a snow event. Here are some pictures, starting with a picture of our ‘campsite’ during the night before the snow:

Our plans for Saturday were to drive the 65 miles to Red Bay, AL, and get set up in the Allegro campground for four days. I was expecting a FedEx package at Sherman, so we waited until after lunch to leave.

In the early morning, we drove into Tupelo to get some groceries at Wal-mart. On the way to Tupelo, about 20 miles from Sherman, we saw the Natchez Trace Parkway, so we took it around to the north side of Tupelo. The “snow” scenery was really nice. Here are some photos:

The snow was only about 2--3 inches, and it was mostly gone by 2:00PM, but for folks from South Texas and Southern Louisiana, it was a nice event.

My package never showed up, so at 12:45PM, we left for Red Bay, and got there about 2:00PM. The campground had saved two sites that were side by side for us. We met up with some people that we already knew, and met some others. It is also nice to have WIFI again.
