We left the Ohio Amish country on Monday afternoon, and met an Engineer with the Atwood levelers in a parking lot in Piqua, OH. He got there about 15 minutes before we did and got checked into his hotel. He was in the area to visit the Airstream factory, and Piqua was about 30 miles out of our way to Branson to meet up with our daughter, son-in-law, and most important, Rachel, our granddaughter!
It took the Engineer about 15 minutes to decide that we had a bad jack, and since he had one in his SUV, he changed it out. About 20 minutes later, we left with all jacks working!!!
We spent the night at a Wal-Mart in Piqua, and then on Tuesday, we drove to Springfield, MO where we had an appointment with a Honda dealer to get some brake work done on our CRV on Wednesday.
We picked up the CRV on Thursday afternoon, and headed to the Ozark Country Campground in Branson. We chose this campground because a new Tiffin Allegro Club, The Okie Allegros from Oklahoma City, OK were having a rally, and I decided while we were taking care of Rachel, we might as well meet some more Allegro owners!! We did meet a couple of people that we will more than likely see down the road, and we had a couple of meals with them. Here is a couple of pictures…….
On Friday afternoon, Rachel and her parents showed up, and we took ‘charge’ of her………. or the other way around!! We gave her the Amish rocker and her Amish quilt. Here are some pictures…..
In the ‘quilt’ pictures, she is watching a video!!
When Rachel got to the park, her mother immediately spotted the small playground with a swing and slide. After that, every time that we went outside, we had to visit the playground!!! She had a good time on it. Here are several pictures of several visits………..
We also found a playground at the resort where Deanne and Mike were staying….
On Saturday morning, Patsy and I took Rachel to The Butterfly Palace and Rain Forest Adventure in Branson. We weren’t too sure how she would react in a big room with a lot of butterflies, but she had a good time, and did not swat at them!! They provide some jungle hats and magnifying glasses for the kids, and here are some pictures……..
In the above picture, you can see Rachel’s “butterfly” hand stamp which she did not want to wash off!! In the following picture, Rachel is looking at the butterflies on Patsy through the magnifying glass, and the picture after that was in a theater for a 3-D movie……….
On Saturday evening, we took Rachel to the resort where Deanne and Mike were staying so she could participate in a Halloween event. Deanne had gotten her a lady bug costume, but Rachel was not exactly enamored with it. She finally put the “hat” on, but it did not stay on for long……….
Rachel went back to the Bus with us and spent Saturday night, and her parents picked her up on Sunday at noon. After they left, Patsy and I drove to the downtown area of Branson and did some souvenir shopping and sightseeing. Here are some pictures of the Branson Landing area……
While we were there, they had a musical water show complete with fire and a rainbow!
We spent Sunday night at the campground, and watched Sunday NFL football. On Monday morning, we left for our Lone Star Allegro rally at the Conroe, TX KOA.
More later.
