Camping with "the club"

We are spending the weekend with 14 families who are members of the Gulf Coast RV Club. This is a RV'ing group that camps within a 150 mile radius of Houston, TX. If you would like to join or find out more, go here: http://gulfcoastrvclub.org/.

Here's the banner...

Here's a couple of pictures of our site. It is a really nice park.

Tomorrow, I will try to get more pictures of the campground.

They have a "10 year" rule, which means that if we were not here for a rally, our '93 motorhome might not have been welcome. I have heard that they make exceptions depending on the condition of the rig. It appears that they use the rule to keep really shoddy rigs out without being sued!!

In the morning, Southwest RV is serving breakfast for the rally, and then they are going to give a seminar on RV Maintenance. Not sure what to expect, but I am going for the free breakfast!! Afterward, one of the club members is giving a seminar on 'Dutch Oven Cooking'. His name is Dutch, but I don't think it is about cooking in his RV oven...... it's supposed to be about cooking, for the Aggies reading this, in a big kettle on an open fire!!

We are also watching the weather. It looks like we will change our route from "going to Dallas and hitting I-20" to " hitting I-10 toward San Antonio and El Paso" to head toward Quartzsite. We will miss seeing Skip and Pat in Mexia, but may still get to visit Ron and Carol in Odessa by cutting up out west.

More to come.........
