Thursday - Pigeon Forge

This morning, we moved from the Sam's parking lot in Knoxville to the Brookside RV Park in Pigeon Forge. After we got parked, checked out the cable TV and excellent WIFI, we decided to go to Gatlinburg to the Craftsman show at the Convention Center. As we drove down the main street of Gatlinburg, it was bumper to bumper traffic. Here are some downtown pictures:

We enjoyed the craft show, and bought a gift for Rick & Laura, a ceramic bread baker (with 24 recipes) for Patsy, and some gumbo mix. After the show, we walked down the main street with a million other people. We decided that since Dollywood is closed on Thursdays, that was the reason all the people were in town. We also went to the Dollywood marketing office to check on tickets for tomorrow and Saturday. Here's a fall scene in front of the building:

Prior to coming to Knoxville, I made contact with Brad Forester, a maintenance expert with ALCOA Tennessee that I met while working to install the EMPAC maintenance management software in all of the ALCOA refining plants. Tonight, Brad and his wife, Connie, picked Patsy and I up at the RV park, and took us out to dinner at a Japanese 'Hibachi' restaurant. It was a very nice visit with Brad. The food was also excellent. Here's a picture of Patsy, Connie, and Brad:

Tomorrow, Patsy and I plan to tour the Pigeon Forge area, and go to Dollywood in the afternoon.

Finally - Rick and I scored a gift instead of Matthew and Aubrey.
