Weekend Camping/RV Rallies

Shortly after we returned form our TRVN rally trip, we attended two (2) weekend rallies for camping groups for which we are members.

The first was held on 02—06May at the Country Place RV Park  in Cut n’ Shoot, TX as part of the Camping Friends Group.  We have been members of this club and an earlier version of it since before I retired in 2005.

We had a good time but I did not take any pictures.  They did have a Texas Hold’em poker tournament, and I won.  Again, no pictures!!!

The second rally was held by the Texas Bluebonnet Allegro Club at the Ransom Road RV Park in Aransas Pass, TX on 16—19May.  This club was formed last summer, and we joined during the organizational meeting, but this was the first time that we have been able to join them since we joined.  It is a club for Tiffin Allegro motorhome owners only!

Since I was not thinking about blogging, I only took one picture………….

………… and that was because I thought that selling ice for 20 cents a scoop was pretty strange!!  However, Patsy explained to me that they cater to a lot of fishermen who fill their ice chest…… makes sense!

The club had 12 rigs (24 people) to turn out, and the hosts for the weekend had bought a lot of large shrimp, and boiled them.  They also boiled some corn on the cob and had Cole slaw to go with it.  An excellent meal!!!!!

This was a good weekend because we got to meet and get to be friends (I think!!!) with a lot of nice people.

Since we were already near Corpus Christi, and had a third weekend rally the following weekend, we decided to make a 12 day trip out of it, and headed to the Rio Grande Valley for a couple of days.  More on that trip later.
