After the chili feast on Monday night, there were no games, so being in the desert with no electricity, no TV (cable or otherwise), we went to bed at 9pm. We got up at 9am this morning……… I think this is the first time that I have slept for 12 hours!!!
We decided to go to what is called the “main event” area, but it is no where near the big tent! We did some shopping, and I found a couple of Quartzsite caps in black. After a couple of hours, we found ourselves checking out La Mesa RV to see what was for lunch. Today, it was pulled pork with mashed potatoes and green peas. That makes three free lunches in three days.
We also went to La Mesa because the night before, we were studying Winnebago brochures, and I noticed that the Itasca only came in two ‘outside’ color patterns but the Winnebago came in four. Since Patsy likes the inside of the Itasca the best, we wanted to see if we could live with the outside color pattern. I don’t like it very well…… so we continue to negotiate and ponder!
After lunch, Patsy went back to the MH to sleep off a headache, while I went looking for WIFI again. I found it in the same vicinity as the day before, but with a much weaker connection. I modified the Monday posting, and added pictures to it.
About 4pm, most of the group met around an early campfire, and starting discussing some of the details of the Mexico trip. At this point, Patsy and I are thinking about leaving here Friday, and spending the weekend in Yuma. It is a nice town, with a lot to do, and there is a border town named “Algodones” that we visited last year, and we may cross over to this year (on foot). We will see as time goes on. The group is planning on meeting at a campground in Ajo, Arizona on Monday to finalize our details (buy insurance, buy food and water, etc.), and spend the night. We will cross at noon on Tuesday and head for Puerto Penasco.
Tonight, we drove into town for ice cream and a little WIFI to check on our bills at home!!
