Today, Patsy and I got up early to shop at the vendor area due north of the 'big tent'. You can find everything from tools to clothes. I purchased a couple of tool items, and Patsy finally found a hat in her 'small' size. Since we had learned how to play Mexican Train, and liked it, we started buying the pieces to assemble one. We also bought a dice cup, for throwing dice. Here's a picture of Patsy in her new hat in front of a food place in a unique RV
Here's a saguaro cactus that we spotted in the middle of the vendor area:
For lunch, we went back to La Mesa and got another freebie. Sunday, it was salsbury steak with green beans and mashed potatoes. Today, it was fried (boneless) chicken, with dressing and gravy, plus we got a side of chili. It was then time to take the motorhome for a dump. I have been watching the dump area (they have only one and it is only open from 9am to 5pm), and it looked like mid-day, the lines were the shortest. We needed to shower, so we went and got into line, and one of us cleaned up while the other moved the motorhome up the line. Here's what a normal line looks like at the dump station
Of course, not everybody likes to pack up their RV and take it to the dump station..... especially the trailer people who would have to hook it up to the truck. So, they use what is called a "blue boy". They transfer from the RV to the Blue Boy, and them take the Blue Boy to the dump. You see a lot of these being pulled by trucks, ATV's, and inside of car trunks. I would not want to handle my "stuff" that intimately!
It takes about 10--15 minutes for each rig to dump, so it can take a while to get through this line. "Quartzsite Trailer Trash" is a common phrase around here. You find it on Tee shirt and baseball caps among other things. Maybe this picture from near the dump site suppports it: When we got the motorhome back to the camp area, Patsy stayed to 'pick it up', and I went to get a bag of ice and to look for WIFI.............. and I found both!!
