When we entered the state of Michigan, we stopped at the Welcome Center. When we asked the lady what we should see, she said that we should not miss the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Frederik Meijer is a local guy who founded a string of upscale supermarkets in Michigan.
Meijer donated over a 100 acres of land for a gardens, and eventually, the sculptures were added. It is now a highly visited state attraction. The park is currently exhibiting glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly, a very famous artist.
Surprising to me, we both enjoyed our visit to this park!
Here are some pictures…..
Patsy sitting on a “Bench Sculpture” with Mr. & Mrs. Meijer……
Richard standing under a horse that weighed 15 tons (bronze) and was supported on only two legs!
We had a nice day. After the park, we drove to the Charlotte, MI fairgrounds for the Spartan Homecoming Rally.
