Today, we decided to leave the fairgrounds at Charlotte, and drive the 110 miles to see the sights of Detroit, MI. We had looked at the maps, and saw that there was an area in downtown Detroit called “Greek Town”, so we thought we would check it out.
After we arrived in Detroit, we easily found Greek Town, and it was disappointing. It turned out to be about a block and a half of Greek fast food places and a few bars. There was also a “Greek Town” Casino, that was neat to walk through, but we did not gamble.
Here are a few pictures of Greek Town…….
We later drove around Detroit. We saw lots of people hanging around in the streets, looking like they lived in the streets. We also found a lot of businesses that were boarded up. It is a pretty depressing town.
We did find Tiger Stadium (Comerica)…..
After a couple of hours of driving around, we headed back to Charlotte. When we got back, a few more early arrivals had come in, so we sat around and visited until it got too cold………. It is supposed to be in the low 40’s tonight. I guess that we don’t have to worry about having a weak 30amp hookup……. we won’t need air conditioning!!!!
