Friday morning, Patsy and I took the Bus over to Edna, TX and secured a space in the Lake Texana State Park. We got a good one, across from the lakefront, and got the Bus all set up. We then headed back to Victoria in the CRV and ran a few errands, and at 3:00PM, we picked up our grandkids, Matthew and Aubrey from dayschool, and took them to the park. They were surprised and pleased.
Before naps and bedtime, they watched their favorite videos on the front TV.
They also did some picture posing.......... when they wanted to cooperate, and I got some good ones................
They also did a lot of bike and wagon riding around the park. They looked at all the tents and other RV's, and people who were camping. They also spent a lot of time in the playgrounds making use of the equipment.
We were really proud of how fast the both mastered the rock-climbing equipment. Matthew has been doing it for a while, but Aubrey, who is only 2 1/2 years old, really picked it up this weekend!!
Saturday night, after working her second nursing job on Saturday afternoon, Mom (Laura) and Dad showed up. The kids were glad to see them. Mom and dad ended up spending Saturday night in the Bus with us. Right before they got there, we had made the burgers and sausage on the portable grill, and they brought the makings for S'mores! So after dinner, we used our campfire to make the desserts................
The park had an abundance of wildlife. Over the weekend, we saw two raccoons in the dumpsters, several turtles, with one sunning on a log, red birds, lots of squirrels, and many, many deer.......... some with fawns.
We broke camp at 11:00AM on Sunday, and drove home. Later this week, Patsy and I will hit the road again............. to camp with the Texas Boomers next weekend, and the Lone Star Allegros the following weekend. Shortly after, we will take the grandkids with their Mom and Dad to the Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, TX.
