Last Friday, I got an email from Carole Johnson telling me that she and Richard (Fuzz), her husband were at Canyon Lake, Tx and that they were coming to Victoria on Tuesday of this week. The Johnsons are full-timers from Vermont who travel in a diesel Mountainaire motorhome. We met them in January when they joined the RV America group at our desert campsite in Quartzsite. They were also a part of the group the caravanned to Mexico and ended our travels together at the Organ Pipe National Part campground.
They had a site for two nights at the 'Lazy Longhorn' campground in Victoria for two nights, and then they will be heading north toward Oklahoma to visit relatives, and then on to Indiana to visit some motorhome manufacturers before heading home to Vermont for the summer.
They indicated that they intend to meet with the group in Quartzsite again next year, and are looking forward to another caravan to Mexico. Both of us are hoping to schedule a trip to the Baja area.
We showed them around Victoria on Tuesday afternoon, and then drove down to Seadrift for a seafood dinner at Barkett's Restaurant.
