On Wednesday evening at about 6:00pm we arrived at the Holiday Travel Park in Chattanooga, and got set up for the next three nights. Afterwards, the grandkids went to the swimming pool and “got wet”……..
On Thursday morning, Grammie decided to make pancakes for breakfast, again, and this time, she had a lot of help….
After a good breakfast, we drove into Chattanooga to find our first attraction……… Ruby Falls. At Ruby Falls, we purchased combo tickets for all of us to enter the falls as well as Rock City and The Incline Railway.
Tickets in hand, we went down the elevator and began the one mile (round trip walk) trek to the 150 foot under ground waterfall. Along the way, we say stalagmites and stalactites, interesting formations, etc. When we reached the falls, it was lit up for a while, and was beautiful. Here are some pictures…………
Outside the cave, we were able to see some views from high on Lookout Mountain.
When we left Ruby Falls, we drove downtown to the Chattanooga Choo Choo. The Choo Choo was originally a Railroad Terminal Station, which was transformed into a visitor center, and later into a hotel property. It was a nice building to visit, and the grandkids got to see old trains and train cars. Here are some pictures……
The interior of the hotel was well done.
After we left the Choo Choo building, it began to rain heavily, and since it was about 5:00pm, we headed back to the Bus where Grammie put some frozen Digiorno’s pizza in the oven. We rested and relaxed for the night.
Tomorrow, we visit Rock City and the Inclined Railway!!!
