Visiting Little Rock, Rachel’s Birthday & Angry Birds

We left the Wal-Mart at Natchitoches, LA at about 8:00am, and got to the Downtown Riverside RV Park in North Little Rock, AR, our normal place to stay when we visit our daughter, Deanne, and her family.  It’s a PA park, and three nights with full 50AMP hookups for $33.

We drove to Deanne’s house, and then rode with her to the Day Care center to pick up Rachel.  When she first spotted us, she was a little scared, but by the time she rode back to the house with Patsy in the back seat with her, she had remembered us, and all was OK!

It had been about 4 months since we had seen her, and she has grown.  Friday was her birthday, and we gave her presents throughout the day rather than all at once.   Here are some pictures………

On Saturday, she had a birthday party with some of her friends and she got dressed up.

The above pictures pretty much wrap up the “two-day” partying event for her birthday.  We also went out to eat as a family on Friday night, and Mike and Deanne made a steak dinner for all of us on Thursday night.

Rachel had another friend’s birthday party to attend with her parents on Saturday night, so Patsy and I said our goodbyes and headed out for dinner at a local “Cracker Barrel” restaurant and to shop for a couple of items for the Bus to continue our trip.

Our grandson, Matthew, likes to play a game on our iPhones called ‘Angry Birds’.  When we left Deanne’s house on Friday night, we had to go through a car wash because some “real” angry birds did a number on our car while we were in the house.  Take a look……….

The weather was cold and rainy for the entire length of our visit.  It was supposed to clear up over Saturday night, and I had hoped for blue skies again on our trip from Little Rock to Red Bay…….. but it was not to be!  More on that in the next blog.
