This was the day to start to wrap-up our stay in Puerto Penasco. Some more of the rigs were being washed and waxed, while others took the time to run into one of the shopping areas to make final purchases. Patsy and I bought our tee shirts to remember Puerto Penasco. At about 10:30am, half of us went as a group to the old port area to negotiate a group price on shrimp and fish. We got jumbo shrimp for $4.50/lb and halibut filets for $2.00/lb.
While shopping, Patsy and I took some more general pictures of the area.
In the afternoon and evening, we had a private cruise set up. We went to the boat and partied and bar-b-qued from 2:00pm -- 4:00pm, and then we set "sail" around the local area and stayed to catch the sunset. There were plenty of margaritas, and a lot of the people got loose and danced. We also saw a fantastic sunset while "at sea". The following pictures pretty well tell the story.
The nice blond lady serving the margaritas is not the waitress, but the better half of our caravan leaders..... Mike and Linda. The guy next to her is Karl Park, who was the first to arrive at Quartzsite and saved our campsite for us.
The next picture shows our whole group, except for one couple who were afraid of 'sea-sickness'
The guys in the next photo were cleaning fish and throwing the remains overboard.
Some of the ladies trying to DWI "dance while intoxicated"
The guy with the cup in his hand in the above picture is Bob of the Bob and Linda team who publish the website "because-we-can.net". When we returned to the campground, he told me that "tonight was the first time that I have ever danced with my wife of nearly 40 years!" I don't know if he was terribly drunk and confused, or if he danced with her later! The guy that he is dancing with is Mike Nix, who is much better cooking steaks on a grill than dancing with another guy.
